Super8man (2005)
CO-PRODUCED BY PORTER PICTURES
Alexandra Porter (Director) and John Chrisstoffels (DOP) on location at Cape Campbell, NZ. (2005)
Produced with financial assistance from Creative NZ’s Screen Innovation Production Fund and Co-Produced by Belmont Productions and Porter Pictures. Super8man explores the world of an amateur filmmaker through cine instruction. With camera poised to capture the ultimate shot of a bird in flight his focus literally, remains on infinity.
Located on the isolated north-east point of the south island, Cape Campbell introduced Porter to New Zealand artist and maverick modernist, Len Lye. As a young boy he lived there for a short time, the wild landscape is said to have nurtured his passion for capturing movement.
Ruth Korver (Art Dept) poised for "wings" shot on location at Gore Bay, north Canterbury NZ. (2005)
